This season is all about the little things! The things that make us smile when we are feeling down, the things that make us feel happy and most importantly, the things that promote our youth and beauty!

When you are expecting your first child, you will need to learn to accept a few changes.

Number one; those cutesy little slip dresses, teeny weeny shorts and skin tight jeans are no longer going to fit the way they used too!

This doesn’t however mean you should abandon your wardrobe entirely in order to enter into a sluggish state!

Your style is still extremely important and although pj’s, joggers and boyfriend shirts are allowed occasionally, they should by no means become your go-to maternity attire throughout your entire pregnancy!

There are many highstreet stores and fashion houses that cater to both the curvalicious and the expectant lady!

A few items of attire to consider include maxi dresses, leggings and jeggings complete with an elastic waistband, puffball skirts, cutesy tees and cashmere knits.

All of the above attire are very popular choices with the stylish expectant mum. They offer laid back yet luxury attire that works for an assortment of occasions!

Most if these options can also be dressed up or dressed down, which makes them the ideal go-to essentials!

Don’t however throw away your much beloved pieces as they will be once again wearable, once you have lost the baby weight!

Victoria Beckham was back in her heels and body con dresses just weeks after giving birth to her new baby, Harper!

Miss Beckham did team up with a trainer both before, throughout and after the birth of her new born! Us mere mortals may have to work a little harder at getting back into shape! This will most certainly require a great deal of will power.

Try hanging your upmost, favourite dress above your wardrobe and work towards fitting elegantly back into your LBD or whatever it may be!

You will be back to your former self in no time and you will have a beautiful baby to show for it!

Nicole Ritchie is the one mum to take the MSM award, which is of course the ‘Most Stylish Mum’ Award. We can’t even begin to imagine how much fun her daughter will be having when she is older. Imagine having a closet like Miss Ritchie’s to raid?

Her style has certainly evolved somewhat since she became a mum. Her current style certainly ticks all of 2012’s layering techniques; take a few style notes now!

Her clothing line Winter Kate also has some great pieces and the fashionable lady has certainly produced quite a few stunning collections to date.

Her line consists of luxurious patterns and cute fabrics. They have been designed with versatility in mind and that is exactly what they will give your wardrobe.

Miss Ritchie was recently seen doing the school run in a beautiful black and white patterned below the knee frock, she tied it loosely at the waist in order to create her infamous carefree style. Teamed with a pair of suede cut off boots, she looked quite the yummy mummy!

Elle Macpherson is another fashionable individual who has made the school run into somewhat of a fashion show. The supermodel seems to nail mummy chic every time!

Jeans are definitely her go-to wardrobe staple. It is however what she pairs them with that make them extra stylish. Think heeled boots and wedges with stylish belts and statement fitted boyfriend shirts.

Her intimate’s selection is a secret anti-mumsy tip and will guarantee to make you feel super glam whatever you choose to wear over it!

Take a few style notes from the supermodel and you too could be joining the yummy mummy clan too! Watch out Nicole and Elle!

Pregnancy isn’t a time to hide away from the new season styles completely. Yes there are something’s you just won’t be able to wear, such as your favourite body con number, but that doesn’t mean taking a step back from fashion completely!

There are many designers that cater solely for the expecting lady. They focus on creating assortments of highstreet styles in mum-friendly fabrics and fits. This in turn allows the stylish mum to look confident and most importantly feel comfortable.

Your new maternity wardrobe should consist of things that are both stylish and comfortable. Trying to squeeze into something that you are constantly tugging at will only make you feel conscious about what you are wearing.

Slipping into something elegant and carefree in a fabric that has been designed to suit your growing bump will however make you feel ready to take on the world!

Maxi dresses are a great look as they offer all of the above! Team with a cute pregnancy style cropped jacket to finish the look off.

Some mum’s won’t even have to invest in any new maxi dresses, due to their cut and style, your original styles will often fit and adapt to your growing bump.

Opt for a dress that offers an empire waist, as this will allow the fabric to flow freely and loosely over your bump.

Jackets in a denim wash such as a white denim look great with maxis in the summer and add a fresh and girly twist to the ensemble. Jackets already owned can generally be used as long as worn unbuttoned.

Invest in a few different maxis in order to change your style a little throughout your pregnancy.

The infamous maxi dress has appeared on catwalks and runways around the globe in both the winter and the summer months!

Then came the maxi skirt, which is another option for both seasons. Simply dress it up or tone it down with a few clever accessories and layers.

The maxi dress is a must-have for holidays as many styles come in a light fabric, which keeps the body cool when its super hot! They are extremely east to pull on after a day by the pool and come in a range of hot colours.

Maxi dresses can be dressed up for an evening out on the tiles and have the effect of elongating the torso when worn with heels. The heel stay hidden under the dress, making the body look a lot longer than it actually is.

Add a few quirky jewels and pile your hair up on your head in order to reveal tanned shoulders. Finish with a pair of chandelier style earrings for a glamorous look.

Such dresses come in a range of different fabrics, the winter styled versions tend to be of a heavier fabric, whilst the summer styles are often chiffon like in style or created in cotton fabrics.

Patterned options are great if you wish to add a little more pizazz to your style, however block coloured options can be both dressed up and dressed down.

Orange shades are also a great look for the summer, as they look great with a tanned, bronzed skin and sunglasses.

Maxi dresses are also a great option for the expecting lady as they come in a loose material that lies softly over the bump. Those that are expecting should however stay away from patterned styles, as they tend to maximize the bump as appose to hide it!

If you are past the ‘I just look bloated’ stage, then you will be ready to invest in that all-new pregnancy wardrobe!

Put your best pieces away till after the event and use this as an excuse to go shopping! There are many ways to dress that bump in a flattering manner, you just need to know how.

Forget the over sized dresses; slouchy joggers and super sized shirts and instead invest in something a little more stylish! Look into which of your favourite stores in fact stock a pregnancy line. You will be surprised at how many high-street stores in fact have a small section for expecting mums! This section will usually stock similar styles to that of the rest of the store but in a more friendly size and fabric.

Fabric is in fact extremely important when looking into maternity wear. You really need to invest in something that is cool, absolutely breathable and of course still stylish.

Pregnancy friendly fabrics should gently hug your growing bump as appose to suffocate it so be sure to steer away from tight fitting and clingy materials.

Features and detailing such as drawstrings, tie backs and zips will allow your clothes to grow with your bump, meaning you will get more wear out of it in the long run.

Such styles will also flatter your growing figure, making you look and feel confident and stylish.

Gathered hems below the growing belly bump always work to create a flattering look as they tend to emphasise the assets and hide the bump, making you appear slimmer all in all.

They will also work to give your growing body some sort of form by showing off those enviable curves!

Wrap tops and dresses are a great option as they are another item that grow with your bump, meaning you won’t have to invest in a new dress or top each time the bump gets a little larger, simply loosen the ties on the wrap feature!

Announcing that you are an expecting mother is a happy time; it is also a time for change.

You are more than likely thinking of a few methods to increase your wardrobe attire in order for your clothing to fit your newly expanding bump.

There are a few pieces of attire that tend to suit the pregnant figure more than others. These include the likes of wrap dresses, branded jeans and wide leg jeans.

Wrap dresses are a great option for the fuller figure and are definitely a great option for expectant mothers to consider.

A wrap dress will wrap easily around the body and due to the fabric tie or ribbon fastening, the dress can be fastened securely in place, it can also be expanded when required.

The fold of the wrap dress will also sit neatly above the baby bump; the v-neck of the dress will also show your assets off, which will also take the emphasis off your new bump.

Wrap around dresses are a great option for both the summer and the winter. In the summer they can be teamed with cutesy flats, shades and a summer hat. In the cooler months, they can be purchased as a long sleeve version, teamed with tights, a winter knit and boots. This is a must-have piece for every expectant mother, not only does it look stylish; it is also super cool and comfy! Choose block colours for the best results, patterns can in fact make your new bump look even bigger than it is!

Always consider comfort, as this is of course the most important factor. If you are uncomfortable in your attire, this un-comfort will show, which will in turn make you feel less stylish, sluggish and far from the confident woman you wish to be!

Just because you are expecting your first or even second child, this by no means should mean you neglect your fashion sense completely!

Being a pregnant mum means investing in a few new clothing options and none of these have to include baggy tees and over sized jogging bottoms!

You can still keep your style, you just have to know how to do it!

Many high street brands and designer labels stock assortments of attire to suit the expectant mum. Most of this attire will however be right on trend for the current season.

Clothes from maternity sections boast to keep expecting mums stylish yet the attire still oozes comfort and breath-ability! If you wish to hide your bump, stay away from intricate and detailed patterns and instead opt for a bold block shade.

Accessorise a simple black outfit with hats, scarves and jewellery. Whatever you do, stay comfortable! If you wear something too tight and in an ill fitting material, you will not only feel uncomfortable, you will also look it!

Many of the fashion available today, such as skinny jeans and short dresses are probably the last thing on a pregnant mother’s list. However these items can work for expecting mums. Most of the jeans and dresses available come in a stretch-style fit.

Skinny jeans appear to look the same, they do however offer a more comfortable fit. This could include an expandable waistline or looser ankles.

Many of the dresses and tops available will work to accentuate your assets and hide your bump, this will in turn allow you to glow in the styles you love!

Looser styles don’t always look better, you make think they hide your bump and you may be right. They do also make the rest of you appear larger. This is certainly a look most don’t wish to achieve. This is why it is always wise to wear style that accentuate your good parts and make your bump appear less obvious. The end results allow pregnant mums to look as stylish as they always do!

As the big freeze finally arrives today’s fashion is big on warmth without losing it’s cool. As everyone knows your head needs to be covered to stop those winter chills. The Aviator Hat by Celtic Sheepskin in brown leather with real sheepskin lining does the job.

Next a quality jacket is needed, go no further than a John Partridge quilted jacket in Teflon coated nylon that is trimmed with a moleskin collar, your man can be comfortable while still looking stylish.

Cardigans are so in this year, and there is a bewildering choice, but Original Penguin by Richard Chai has produced a limited edition dark grey shawl collar plaid cardi. With its large pockets and chunky buttons its very 60′s.
Paul Smith at Jules B goes for the multi check shirt, which will look good with Eden Park Desert denim trousers at Geoffrey Gillow Darlington.

Winter fashions are a great look for any guy and thankfully both designer and high street stores are stocking a variety of looks this season. This certainly makes it a little easier to dress our guys! As long as you choose the right fit, you will have your man looking stylishly warm in no time! Bring on the chill!

We mightn’t get snow this year but there’s always plenty of rain and as wellingtons are a fashion statement this year. For the ultimate style, wellington warmers are needed, try Fleece Wellington socks by Barbour. For the more energetic man the Belstaff gilet allows easy movement especially for bikers, its down filled so is very warm yet still super stylish. Ensuring your mans hands will be kept warm this winter is a simple task as there are some amazing gloves made with a conductive material in the index finger and thumb from Isotoner SmaTouch at www.firebox.com.

Every expectant mother tends to grow in size around the midriff, which in turn means a lot of our beloved clothes no longer fit anymore!

Thus shouldn’t however mean reaching for the baggiest items in our wardrobe, just because you are expecting, this by no means should mean losing that pre-baby style!

Many expecting mums will actually be glowing with health and happiness, so why not take advantage of your glowing face and really work that style!

There are arrays of high-street boutiques and designer stores that stock stylish pregnancy wear! The clobber has been designed with only the expectant mum in mind and comes in the shape of stylish on-trend pieces that will flaunt that bump, rather than hide it!

Clothes chosen should make you feel both confident and comfortable, if you are able to achieve both of the above, you will be well on your way to being the most stylish mum out there!

Opt for things you would normally wear but in a slightly different cut, such as the baby doll look for example! Such a style emphasises your upper half and flows softly over your lower half, meaning the attention will be drawn to your assets as appose to your growing bump!

Choose things that offer comfortable and cooling fabrics, stay well away from the likes of Lycra and anything too clingy!

Stand up tall, wear what you wish to wear and flaunt that bump! Being stylish is all about confidence, and if you have that, you will look glowing and effortlessly stylish!
